Spot for Mavericks (MacOSX 10.9)
Posted by Elena Scire on 19 November 2013 09:33 AM

Mac OS X Mavericks tightens the security control over applications that are not from Mac App Store and identified developers. Spot is among them. To make Spot run, users need to change the 'Security & Privacy' setting:

  • Open System Preferences
  • Click on 'Security & Privacy' in Personal section
  • Login by clicking the lock icon
  • Choose 'Anywhere' under the title 'Allow applications downloaded From'
  • Close the System Preferences dialog
  • Start Spot by double clicking on Spot icon

Please also see Running Spot and Leopard on Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) for other problems you may encounter

Spot requires Java version 1.6 AND 1.7. We advise you to install Java 6  and 7 before installing Spot if you do not already have them. Please see for directions on download Java 6 and 7.

If Spot or Leopard will not open after an auto-update please see
